Restaurant dining room with tables set for service

Weekends in Hua Hin invite long, unhurried meals, and Mukti Restaurant & Bar has now moved its Indian menu earlier in the day to suit them. Lunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 to 15:00, with dinner continuing from 17:00 to 22:30.

South Indian Breakfast Classics

The lunch menu opens with dosas made from a fermented rice and lentil batter, spread thin and cooked crisp. The masala dosa is filled with spiced potatoes and onions, while the plain version is the simpler option. Both come with coconut chutney and sambar, as do the steamed idlis, offered in masala and plain styles.

Street Food and Pav

Egg bhurji brings soft scrambled eggs with onions, tomatoes, fresh chillies and coriander, paired with flaky Kerala paratha. Puri bhaji pairs freshly puffed puris with a homestyle potato bhaji. There is also a Mumbai-style vada pav, a spiced potato vada in toasted pav with chutneys including a dry garlic peanut version, and keema matar pav, a slider-style take with spiced lamb, green peas and caramelised onions.

Rolls, Chole and Thalis

Kathi rolls wrap tandoor-charred chicken tikka or paneer in flaky paratha with crisp onions, herbs and chutney. Chole bhatura serves a slow-cooked chickpea curry with freshly fried, fluffy bhatura. For a fuller meal, choose the vegetarian or non-vegetarian thali, each with several preparations, rice and sides, and both finished with a soft gulab jamun soaked in syrup. The non-vegetarian thali highlights the butter chicken.

The Off-Menu Finish

Ask about the chai tiramisu, an Indian-inflected take on the Italian classic. It is not on the lunch menu but may be available on request, and it makes an excellent end to the meal.

With a balance of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, the menu works well for groups and relaxed weekend tables. Mukti is at 86 Moo 14, Hin Lek Fai, Hua Hin, and is closed on Mondays.
